Orange County Commission approves 3 Venue Plan
The $1.1 Billion plan to build a new arena, performing arts center, and renovate the Citrus Bowl has been approved by a 5-2 vote by the Orange County Commission.
This final vote gives the green light to the 3 venue deal following the City of Orlando's approval last week, and the agreement forged last fall by Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and Orange County Mayor Richard Crotty.
The 10 hour meeting featured presentations of the venues, financial presentations, discussion, and public feedback. An ill-fated effort by I-Drive developers to build the arena in the I-Drive area was also presented.
